Homebound Teacher (Part-Time) – Virginia Beach City Public Schools

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking qualified, licensed teacher applicants for part-time Homebound Teacher positions in all subject areas. Qualified applicants will hold an active Virginia teacher license and must possess and demonstrate competencies to tutor, under the supervision of classroom teachers, a variety of subject and course content for students unable to attend school due to medical and emotional conditions.

Homebound teachers are expected to collaborate closely with school staff to implement educational services for their assigned students and will be assigned to students based on licensure endorsements and other indicated competencies.

• Tutor students in all subject areas under the supervision of classroom teachers.
• Collaborate closely with school staff to implement educational services for assigned students.
• Assign students based on licensure endorsements and indicated competencies.
• Participate in training as required.

• Active Virginia teacher license.
• Competencies to tutor course content for students unable to attend school due to medical and emotional conditions.

• Current VBCPS employees: Log on to  (intranet), complete an online Supplemental Application, and then apply for the position of Homebound Teacher.
• External candidates: Visit , complete a VBCPS online Certified Application and then apply for the position of Homebound Teacher. If a VBCPS Certified Application has already been submitted through the online system, apply for the posted job of Homebound Teacher.
• All supporting documentation must be included as part of the application.
