Homebound Teacher

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking qualified, licensed teacher applicants for part-time Homebound Teacher positions in all subject areas. Qualified applicants will hold an active Virginia teacher license, and must possess and demonstrate competencies to tutor, under the supervision of classroom teachers, a variety of subject and course content for students unable to attend school due to medical and emotional conditions.

Homebound teachers are expected to collaborate closely with school staff to implement educational services for their assigned students. Homebound teachers will be assigned to students based on licensure endorsements and other indicated competencies.

Current VBCPS employees:
Log on to  (intranet), complete an online Supplemental Application, and then apply for the position of Homebound Teacher.

External Candidates:
Visit the school division website , complete a VBCPS online Certified Application and then apply for the position of Homebound Teacher. If a VBCPS Certified Application has already been submitted through the online system, apply for the posted job of Homebound Teacher.

• Provide instructional support to students in various subject areas.
• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to implement educational services.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress.

• Active Virginia teacher license.
• Demonstrated competencies in tutoring and subject content knowledge.
• Ability to work with students with medical and emotional conditions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
