Work Schedule | 29 hours per week to be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:30 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends will also be required.

Tidewater Community College has served South Hampton Roads – both students and employers – for 50 years. It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 25,000 students in 2024-25. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions.

Position Summary: To aid students in achieving educational, career, and personal goals through the use of the full range of institutional and community resources. To stimulate and support students in their quest for an enriched quality of life, reflecting the institution’s mission of holistic student development.

To work with individual students and groups of students to Assess their educational status and interests. Help to determine appropriate academic and career goals. Identify and share programs and strategies to support development. Independently analyze and understand student issues to provide appropriate coaching, mentoring, and academic advisement that will ultimately lead to greater student persistence and retention. Track and evaluate academic progress.
