Electronic Technician

Overview

VTG is seeking an Electronic Technician to support multiple projects.

• Mechanical Assembly
  :
  Perform layout and mechanical assembly procedures for submarine and shipboard CSRR and CANES-related racks. Report any issues or concerns to the lead engineering technician.
• Cable Installation
  :
  Install copper and fiber optic cabling across various submarine and shipboard platforms, utilizing cableway routing and isometric drawings to ensure accurate placement.
• Testing Procedures
  :
  Conduct testing on installed system components, including continuity and megger tests, fiber optic light and loss tests, voltage frisks, wet/dry torque values, and tempest inspections.
• Data Analysis
  :
  Analyze and interpret test data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
• Technical Reporting
  :
  Complete technical reports and objective quality evidence documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• System Evaluation
  :
  Verify the functionality of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance before System Operational Verification Testing.

Education/

Experience:

• BS in electronics plus three years of related work experience, AS plus four years of related experience, or HS or equivalent plus six years of work related experience and/or training. Full understanding and familiarization of electricity and electronics required.

Mathematical

Skills:

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer

Skills:

• Working knowledge of MS Office applications.

• Valid driver's license

• Must be able to travel as required.
