Overview
Virginia Business Team Leader - Water/Wastewater is a leadership role at Garver responsible for building and leading the Virginia Water Services Team. The successful candidate will manage water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery, develop client relationships, participate in industry activities, mentor staff, and contribute to Garver’s growth in Virginia.
Responsibilities- Lead business development activities including direct client interaction and engagement
- Develop a business/financial plan for the Virginia Water Services market
- Collaborate with Garver’s proposal team to capture top-line revenue generating projects
- Oversee hiring of a team of Project Managers to support the business plan
- Oversee project delivery with a focus on risk management and profitability
- Serve as a project leader and technical advisor on water and wastewater projects
- Manage and grow resources to open and operate a new Garver office in Virginia
- The ability and desire to develop new and existing clients and build a Virginia Water Business Line
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 8+ years of water sector experience with at least 3 years in project/team leadership
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia
- Experience in responsible charge of designs for water and wastewater collection, distribution, pumping, and/or treatment projects
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary practices for water and wastewater infrastructure
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
