At NAS Oceana located at Virginia Beach, VA,
SA-TECH supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) that covers the development, integration, management and support of an integrated program to enable a continuous, multi-domain, Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training platform across multiple physical training locations. Together with our partners,
SA-TECH is helping integrate the Navy Combined Tactical Training Range (NCTTR) and the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) into the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) environment.
SA-TECH is currently looking to hire a TDL Engineering Technician IV at NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) to communicate with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions. This position reports to the Oceana Operations Manager.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- Proactively communicate with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions.
- Utilize all functionality of JRE in order to meet specific training event requirements.
- Through CSMs, coordinate with and train designated range personnel in the daily operation of TDL equipment.
- Coordinate TDL settings with all training network participants.
- Support tactical data link design in validated operational requirements to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation.
- Work with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL baselines.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Physical Requirements:
- Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds.
- Constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness.
- Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience in tactical data and information links within the past five (5) years
- Five (5) years of experience in Navy Key Management Infrastructure.
- Three (3) years of experience with computer/electronic systems operations/maintenance in the following areas:
- MIDS / JRE / CMN-4
- Digital/analog signal processing;
- Video/audio signal processing and recording;
- Communications (Network/multiplexer equipment, routers, fiber-optic, data encryption equipment);
- Digital computer systems
- Auto-transfer (UPS) equipment
- Formal training in tactical data and information links.
- Multiple Tactical Data Link experience (Link-11, Link- 16, etc.).
- Joint Range Extension (JRE) operations experience.
- NAVEDTRA 43462-2A KMI PQS.
- Three (3) years of experience in computer systems analysis (hardware/software), computer programming, and LAN support (including server and workstations).
- Linux Operating System (OS) and network administration experience.
- Microsoft Windows (OS) and network administration experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
