My client is a Civil Engineering Consulting firm with a national network of offices. They are actively seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer with their PE.
This Traffic Engineer will lead interesting, and in many cases, on the leading edge of traffic engineering applications in the industry. Our senior level traffic engineers lead a wide variety of analysis, modeling, design, and planning for multimodal transportation projects. Assignments can include: traffic safety/operations studies; development or application of Synchro, Sim Traffic, Trans Modeler, VISSIM, and VISUM models; and design of traffic control devices (traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting);
work zone traffic control; ITS and CAV projects. Project assignments can range from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects, as well as innovative multimodal transportation plans.
Position may include working at client site(s) and infrequent travel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program required, master's degree preferred
- 16+ years of progressive experience in traffic and/or ITS engineering
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
- Certified PTOE
- Experience using traffic guidelines, such as AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety Manual
- Experience working with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience with any of the following:
- Trans Modeler, VISSIM, and/or VISUM
- Design of traffic control devices (traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting) and work zone traffic control
- ITS and CAV projects
