Position OverviewWe are supporting an industry-leading engineering firm in their search for a Senior Engineering Lead a seasoned technical professional responsible for driving innovative engineering design across complex, multidisciplinary projects. This role requires an expert-level engineer who can independently lead initiatives, guide project execution, and mentor emerging talent while serving as a trusted technical advisor to internal teams and clients. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep engineering knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and proven success managing deliverables across concurrent assignments.
Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Project Execution- Lead and oversee engineering design efforts across multiple projects simultaneously within your discipline.
- Support project managers by interpreting client needs and translating them into actionable technical solutions that elevate the client experience.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and interviews as a subject‑matter expert.
- Plan, schedule, and manage critical phases of engineering work on moderately complex or major projects.
- Develop high-quality engineering designs aligned with client specifications, industry standards, and project objectives.
- Utilize advanced design tools, modeling software, and analytical methods to produce accurate drawings and deliverables.
- Address complex engineering challenges by identifying solutions, evaluating alternatives, and applying industry best practices.
- Prepare or oversee the development of technical documentation including reports, memos, and project design packages.
- Review and validate engineering calculations and design outputs for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct cross‑discipline and constructability reviews to ensure seamless project integration.
- Contribute to the refinement of engineering workflows and operational procedures to improve productivity and consistency.
- Provide scope, effort estimates, and scheduling input to project managers; ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Assign tasks to junior engineers and designers while providing oversight, coaching, and detailed technical feedback.
- Mentor team members to strengthen their engineering skills and support long‑term professional growth.
- Represent the organization through active engagement in industry groups, publications, and technical discussions.
- Proficiency in discipline‑specific engineering design software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including project leadership responsibilities.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Advanced discipline certifications (e.g., PTOE, IMSA).
- Familiarity working with municipal, county, or state government clients.
- Approximately 95% of work is performed in a professional office setting.
- Occasional field visits may require exposure to various weather conditions and light physical activity (lifting up to 25 lbs).
