Travel: 15-20% (Quarterly client reviews, industry conferences)

This specialized Fin Ops role targets regions with strong financial services and corporate headquarters where cloud cost optimization delivers maximum ROI. We're focusing on cities with significant cloud spend and mature financial operations.
Priority Locations- Primary:
Charlotte, NC (Banking/Financial hub) - Secondary:
Atlanta, GA (Fortune 500 headquarters) - Tertiary:
Raleigh, NC (Tech/Research), Tampa, FL (Financial services) - Remote Consideration:
Eastern USA with financial/cloud optimization experience
- Direct access to financial services clients with large cloud budgets
- Proximity to southeastern corporate headquarters
- Alignment with eastern business hours for client CFO/CIO meetings
- Understanding of regional compliance requirements (SOX, FINRA, etc.)

Our Cloud & Infrastructure Fin Ops practice helps clients transform cloud spending from an unpredictable variable cost into a strategic, optimized investment. We bridge the gap between finance, operations, and technology teams to ensure every cloud dollar delivers maximum business value.
As cloud expenditures continue to grow, our Fin Ops services have become essential for maintaining competitive advantage and financial discipline.
We are seeking an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Fin Ops Manager to establish and lead our Financial Operations practice. This strategic role combines financial acumen with deep technical understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) to optimize spending, forecast accurately, and implement cost governance frameworks. You will work directly with client CFOs, CIOs, and engineering teams to create transparency in cloud spending, implement optimization strategies, and develop showback/chargeback models.
This is a high-impact role that directly contributes to client profitability and operational efficiency.
- Establish and lead the Fin Ops practice within Funto Network, defining methodologies, tools, and service offerings
- Develop and implement Fin Ops frameworks aligned with Fin Ops Foundation principles
- Create standardized reporting packages for executive leadership (C-suite dashboards)
- Lead quarterly business reviews with clients, presenting cost optimization achievements and future strategies
- Build relationships with client finance departments to align cloud spending with business objectives
- Conduct comprehensive cloud cost assessments across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
- Implement automated cost optimization strategies:
- Reserved Instance/Savings Plans analysis and recommendations
- Right‑sizing recommendations for compute, storage, and database resources
- Idle resource identification and remediation
- Storage lifecycle policies and data tiering optimization
- Design and implement tagging strategies for cost allocation and accountability
- Develop automated governance policies using tools like Azure Policy, AWS Config, or third‑party solutions
- Create accurate cloud spend forecasts using historical data and growth projections
- Develop showback and chargeback models for internal cost allocation
