Job Summary

VSolvit is looking for a Mid-level Knowledge Management/Information Management System (KM/IMS) Specialist to join our Range Systems Engineering team in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division.

A Knowledge Management (KM) professional is responsible for creating, organizing, sharing, and maintaining an organization’s knowledge assets — so employees can easily access and use the information they need to work effectively.

Additional expectations include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement KM Strategies for MIS Contract Support:
    Create and implement knowledge management strategies aligned with the MIS contract goals, focusing on improved knowledge capture, sharing, and utilization related to technical documentation, project data, and best practices
  • Define policies, standards, and best practices for managing information
  • Administer and Enhance Information Management Systems:
    Administer and maintain information management systems used for storing and managing data, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for stakeholders across the MIS contract tasks
  • Identify key knowledge sources (documents, experts, systems, lessons learned, etc.)
  • Capture tacit knowledge (know-how in people’s heads) and explicit knowledge (documents, manuals, databases)
  • Organize and classify knowledge using taxonomies, metadata, and content tagging for easy retrieval
  • Implement and manage KM tools and platforms (knowledge bases, content management systems, etc.)
  • Work with IT teams to ensure platforms are user-friendly and well-integrated; use analytics to measure usage, engagement, and value of KM systems
  • Track metrics such as knowledge reuse, employee engagement, and time saved
  • Gather feedback and continuously improve KM processes and tools
  • Conduct after-action reviews and lessons learned sessions after projects
  • Support STAVE-NET Knowledge Management Tool Development:
    Provide development support for the STAVE-NET Knowledge Management tool, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration among users, and enhancing its functionalities based on user feedback and requirements
  • Analyze and Recommend Technology Solutions for KM/IMS:
    Analyze and recommend the adoption of containerized solutions and RAISE/Over Match Armory-style solutions for improved KM/IMS capabilities, supporting NCTE baseline architecture documentation revamp, and analyzing the potential of LLM-based analysis of NETTN technical publications
  • Promote Knowledge Sharing and

    Collaboration:

    Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the MIS contract environment, facilitating knowledge exchange across teams, and providing training on KM/IMS best practices and tools
Basic Qualifications
  • Security+ or equivalent or higher certification
  • 2+ years of experience as a Jira-Confluence Administrator at the project level
  • Experience in knowledge management, information management, or a related discipline
  • Ability to understand business processes
  • Ability to document SOPs and business processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of software development methods (Agile, Waterfall, ITIL…)
  • Team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance required
  • US citizenship required
