Job DescriptionThe Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions to meet the organization's needs. This role involves strategic planning, architectural design, and leading the migration of services to the cloud. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
Requirements- U.S Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
- Remote candidates may be based in AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar.
- Knowledge of networking, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery concepts in the cloud.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect. - Experience in a government contracting environment.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy that aligns with organizational goals.
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures using cloud service platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Ensure cloud solutions meet security and compliance requirements, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA.
- Lead the migration of on-premises systems and applications to cloud environments.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for cloud migrations and new cloud initiatives.
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure that supports high availability, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Implement security controls and best practices to safeguard data and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Evaluate and implement new cloud services and tools to improve infrastructure and meet evolving needs.
- Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders.
- Implement monitoring tools to track cloud infrastructure performance and health.
- Continuously monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure it meets performance and cost objectives.
