Position Summary
Data Analyst Cloud Fin Ops & Cost Analytics Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Data Analyst Cloud Fin Ops & Cost Analytics
to analyze, model, and forecast financial and operational data related to cloud services and on-premises data center workloads.
The ideal candidate will combine strong
data analytics, Power BI, financial analysis, and cloud cost management
skills to support cost optimization, cloud migration planning, and strategic technology decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret IT financial data related to Azure cloud services and on-premises data center environments.
- Analyze cloud consumption, billing, chargeback, and cost allocation data.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize cost trends, migration impacts, utilization, and optimization opportunities.
- Perform monthly and annual variance analysis of IT spending and identify anomalies, cost drivers, and potential savings.
- Maintain and enhance datasets from multiple sources, including cloud portals, IT financial management platforms, and collaboration/document repositories.
- Perform data manipulation, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across heterogeneous data sources.
- Document processes and procedures related to financial reporting, data analysis, and cost management.
- Collaborate with cloud engineering, infrastructure, operations, and finance stakeholders to align cost models with operational requirements.
- Support cloud migration planning by modeling workload and server cost scenarios.
- Forecast capacity and cloud consumption requirements to support financial planning.
- Provide analytical insights to support Fin Ops strategy, cost optimization, and cloud utilization initiatives.
- Translate technical and financial data into actionable insights for technical teams and management.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including Power Query and DAX.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong data visualization capabilities.
- Experience with data modeling and data manipulation.
- Experience working with data from multiple and heterogeneous sources.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud cost management and cloud billing structures.
- Experience with IT financial data, cost analysis, or technology spend analysis.
- Knowledge of workload/server cost modeling and cloud migration strategies.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience with
Apptio
or similar IT financial management / Technology Business Management tools. - Experience with
Fin Ops
practices, certification, or training. - Experience with Azure Reserved Instances and cloud capacity planning.
- Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT) capacity planning.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and strategic IT planning.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and forecasting.
- Experience working with Azure Portal, SharePoint, or similar enterprise data sources.
