Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIH stroke certification (pending is acceptable). Must-Have:
Epic experience is required. Candidates must have experience caring for ventilated patients and managing acute stroke conditions.

Description:

The Neuro ICU is a 12-bed critical care unit. It provides intensive management to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Common cases include central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Additional diagnoses include neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.

The daily census is approximately 10 patients. The unit is staffed to maintain a patient ratio of 2:1. Nights and weekend shifts are required, including every other weekend and holiday work. Candidates must adhere to floating policies based on their scope of practice. Prior charge experience is preferred. Travelers are expected to manage their time off within the contractual limits.
