Timberlake Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician to our team.
Timberlake Veterinary Hospital has an experienced and close-knit team that has been servicing the area since 1979. Our practice is in an attractive facility in the busy Holland Plaza Shopping Center. Our beautifully decorated 3,000 square foot hospital includes a reception area, four exam rooms, treatment/prep area with two wet table workstations, an x–ray room, surgical suite, and more! Timberlake Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA
$19.00 - $23.00 an hour, depending on experience and certification. This role is also eligible for a sign‑on bonus!
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
- Perform physical assessments and record your observations
- Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients
- Explain necessary follow‑up and home care instructions
- Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform the inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
- Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery
- Execute treatment orders, including collecting urine samples via void and express and administering medications – PO, IM, SQ, SL, IV
- Runs lab work including CBC, Chem, LYTES and urinalysis, preps samples for external processing

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) required
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
- At least two years of prior veterinary experience required; prior surgery experience desired
