Veterinary Assistant - Dermatology

Overview

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring an extraordinary Dermatology Veterinary Assistant! This is a full-time position with service hours operating Tuesday - Thursday, 7am-5pm.

Pay: $17.50 - $26.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

• Be comfortable with heavy client communication
• Obtain patient s history
• Preferably, be comfortable with routine dermatology medications and side effects
• Venipuncture and placing intravenous catheters
• Able to use Dermatology terms
• Swab for Otic Cytology, and ear mite preparation
• Prepare for Skin Biopsy
• Able to recognize alopecia, nodules and tumors
• Patient care including diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
• Familiar and proficient with aseptic techniques
• Familiar with laboratory procedures and practices
