ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, performs Non‑Destructive Analysis job functions as assigned by NDA management. Typical responsibilities include support and implementation of NDA quality monitoring and compliance programs and ensuring proper documentation of assigned non‑destructive testing and analysis in accordance with all applicable requirements, as well as preparing and interpreting Quality Control (QC) data to ensure measurement systems are functioning properly.
- Helps ensure compliance with all contract requirements, quality standards and NDA Quality Assurance Plan(s)
- Supports NDA Program Health in accordance with NDA Quality Assurance Plan
- Develops and implements NDA procedures and processes in coordination with NDA Program Management
- Performs procedure writer responsibilities for NDA related plans, procedures, and other documents as needed
- Provides guidance and training to staff as necessary
- Assists in the disposition and management of NDA Records
- Assigns, tracks & monitors NDA equipment & project tasks through Wavefront/CCID database
- Assists with identifying, investigating, and resolving any data quality anomalies
- Supports NDA efforts to maintain instrument calibration for utilization in the field
- Assists with monitoring all NDA needs in relation to the FRNP M&TE program
- Supports in the development and implementation of NDA training and mentoring
- Provides support in testing, method development and calibration of NDA instrumentation, as directed
- Monitors and notifies management regarding adverse trends in test results, equipment operation, or related factors; complies with all corrective action procedures as appropriate
- Assists with internal assessments and monitoring NDA program health
- Tracks source re‑certification needs and related data to ensure compliance with NDA’s inventory of working reference material (WRM)
- Ensures main elements of interest for measurements comply with specific Data Quality Objectives to meet customer (NCS, MC&A and Waste) needs
- Assists management with updating and implementing DOE‑approved project Non‑Destructive Analysis Program, as requested
- Supports the implementation of DOE directives and project contract requirements for NDA evaluations, reports, deliverables and associated safety controls
- Must be capable of understanding and performing NDA methods and processes
- Performs complex duties

- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations; if supervising others, ensures they comply with established safety policies and practice safe work habits
- BA/BS degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience with nuclear facility operations
- Knowledge of and experience with DOE nuclear facility safety, including technical safety requirements, processes and reporting requirements
- Attention to detail
- Proficient PC skills including Microsoft software
- DOE "L" clearance or ability to obtain a DOE "L" clearance
- Radiological training required
Work will be performed in an office in a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). The employee may also work at off‑project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials exists if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Physical requirements include sedentary to light work, exercising up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires a two‑person buddy system), non‑repetitive work up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Non‑repetitive activities include lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
Primary office duties include heavy computer usage.
