Job Summary:

Coordinates inventory flow to support merchandise and financial goals. Continuously analyzes business and recommends and implements strategies and actions to drive sales productivity and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct distribution of goods to support sales, profitability, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction across assigned NEXCOM business areas.
  • Determine appropriate ratios of DC, store, and pipeline inventory for all items.
  • Develop and modify replenishment parameters for all basic reorder items to ensure stock levels align with approved NEXCOM planograms and store sizes.
  • Partner with the Forecast Analyst to review and adjust forecast parameters for seasonal and/or advertised items.
  • Ensure featured products are in stock at NEXCOM locations participating in advertising events.
  • Consider overall supply‑chain health when making business decisions.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies within the NEXCOM supply chain.
  • Participate in supplier/merchant meetings, communicating supply‑chain opportunities, concerns, and successes, including collaboration on forecasted needs.
  • Proactively identify cost‑saving opportunities related to product distribution and partner with NEXCOM distribution and merchant teams to implement improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to address in‑stock and supply‑chain concerns or opportunities.
  • Monitor aged inventory, identify risk‑mitigation opportunities, and provide recommendations to merchants for corrective action.
  • Maintain and review replenishment snapshot metrics, including planogram accuracy, NIS (Not In Stock) causes, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Use Allocate to purchase seasonal, fashion, and promotional one‑time buys, ensuring accurate quantities and inventory levels meet item‑level sales demand.
Business Analysis
  • Monitor and evaluate Open‑to‑Buy weekly; assess risk and recommend action accordingly.
  • Prepare reports and actionable business analyses as needed.
  • Identify low‑performing items that may negatively impact inventory or turns.
  • Make preventative recommendations and take action to reduce aged inventory and ensure exit strategies are executed.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate merchandise presentation, stock assortments, and inventory levels across NEXCOM locations.
  • Work closely with store management to identify and maximize business opportunities.
  • Supervise and develop subordinate staff as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Structure
  • Work under the supervision of a Senior Inventory Planner or Divisional Merchandise Manager of Planning.
  • Operate independently within NEXCOM policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use independent judgment in routine and non‑routine situations.
  • Consult with supervisor regarding policy issues, deviations from normal procedures, or unusual circumstances.
  • Performance is evaluated based on operational results, skill assessments, customer service, teamwork, leadership, work quality, and established performance metrics.
Additional Requirements
  • Must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE Form 450) as required.
