Unarmed Security Officer

Enterprise Security Services Corporation is hiring Unarmed Security Officers to support client operations throughout Virginia Beach and surrounding areas.

With more than 30 years in the security industry, our women-owned and minority-owned company provides professional security services to a variety of businesses and public-facing environments. We are looking for dependable individuals who can balance security awareness with a courteous, approachable  this role, you will help protect properties, assist visitors, and contribute to an environment where customers, employees, and guests feel secure.

Officers may serve a range of client properties across Virginia Beach, including:

• Retail stores and shopping centers

• Hotels and hospitality properties

• Commercial buildings

• Other client-designated locations

Assignments depend on operational coverage requirements, and officers may move between different sites. Candidates should be prepared to commute reliably throughout the service area and adapt to the expectations of each assigned property.

Our officers play an important part in maintaining order, identifying potential risks, and delivering professional service in busy environments.

• Maintain a professional presence: Help establish a safe, orderly, and welcoming atmosphere for customers, guests, employees, and visitors.

• Observe high-traffic areas: Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas for unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential safety concerns.

• Assist people on-site: Respond to questions, provide directions where appropriate, and interact with the public in a courteous manner.

• Prevent property-related incidents: Conduct active patrols to help deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

• Handle unexpected situations: Respond calmly to disturbances, incidents, and emergencies while following established procedures.

• Monitor surveillance equipment: Observe available CCTV systems and report suspicious activity or other irregularities.

• Maintain accurate records: Complete incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation clearly and promptly.

Candidates should demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and the ability to remain attentive throughout their shifts.

The following requirements apply:

• Hold a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) unarmed security officer registration or be eligible and willing to obtain the required registration.

• Meet Virginia's minimum age and eligibility requirements for security registration.

• Successfully pass the required criminal background check.

• Have reliable transportation to reach assigned client locations throughout Virginia Beach and nearby areas.

• Communicate effectively and maintain a calm, professional approach when interacting with the public.

• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Experience in security, hospitality, customer service, retail, or a similar public-facing role is an advantage. Candidates with relevant experience may find these skills particularly useful when assisting guests and responding to concerns in busy environments.

Officers must be able to obtain and maintain a clean, professional Class A black uniform. Communication equipment may be provided according to the needs of the assigned site.

A professional appearance and compliance with client-specific uniform and equipment procedures are expected while on duty.
