Residential Maintenance Technician – Level I

AboutThe Role
The Maintenance Technician is integral to this objective.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide maintenance support for general maintenance and orderliness of property HVA, mechanical, electrical, utilities and lighting systems, including inspections and repairs.
- Ensure the execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Deliver the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
- Work a rotating on‑call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of maintenance experience.
- Basic troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
- Ability to make repairs to resident homes to company standards within time limits.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Certifications relevant to the region (e.g., EPA 608, boiler, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair) obtained within 9 months of employment or promotion.
- Required training courses completed within one year of hire or promotion.
- Valid, state‑issued driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment and supplies; frequently stand, reach, climb ladders, balance, and stoop. Lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50–75 lbs.
Typical Work ConditionsWork is performed inside and outside a maintenance/machinery environment and residential properties. Employees frequently interact directly with residents, maintenance staff, and community staff during the workday.
