Position

Summary

Integrated Systems Technician – Virginia Beach, Virginia. Plan, direct, and coordinate (usually through subordinate personnel) activities concerning the installation and/or service of Integrated Systems. Participate in the service and/or inspection process, and oversee project repair, testing, and completion. Systems include fire alarm, intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, IP cameras, networking infrastructure, telecom, bi‑directional antenna (BDA), distributed antenna (DAS), audio/video, nurse call, area of refuge, intercom, Crestron, Extron, Honeywell, Notifier, Gamewell FCI, Silent Knight, Fire Lite, Siemens, Auto Call/JCI, or RATH.

What You Need
  • 1+ year experience installing commercial construction Integrated Systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail & communication skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting equipment manuals and translating them into simple instructions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Competence reading and interpreting electrical plans, drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation for company vehicle use
  • Eligibility to pass required background checks
  • Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation (if required)
  • Desirable (not required):
    • Experience or training in specialized systems (e.g., Crestron, Honeywell, CCTV, BDA/DAS, nurse call)
What You Will Do
  • Analyze needs & product requirements for installation and/or service
  • Conduct tests & inspections to evaluate product, service, or process performance
  • Operate industry‑specific tools for proper installation & service
  • Identify and evaluate complex problems, review info, and implement corrective action plans
  • Apply mathematical skills for computations & problem‑solving
  • Use logic & reasoning to assess alternative solutions/approaches
  • Identify measures & actions to improve system performance
  • Respond to delays, adverse weather, or emergencies at job sites
  • Investigate job site damage, accidents, or delays to ensure proper procedures are followed
  • Accurately interpret & complete assigned instructions from supervisor
  • Complete work in a timely manner as directed
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers, supervisors, job site personnel, and vendors
  • Demonstrate autonomy in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
  • Utilize concentration, attention to detail, & multitasking ability
  • Oversee, plan, schedule, and prioritize the work of others; delegate tasks to others
  • Communicate clearly & professionally with employees
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerning installation & service of Integrated Systems
  • Maintain proper risk management & safety procedures on all job sites per VSC guidelines
  • Participate in service & inspection process to oversee project repair, testing, and completion
  • Manage delays, emergencies, damage, and/or accidents at job sites to ensure proper procedural compliance
