About Cape Henry Collegiate (CHC) Athletic Program

The CHC Athletic Program is a vibrant department within an independent college preparatory school. We value our coaching staff, who are key members of the CHC community. We seek coaches dedicated to leading, mentoring, and teaching skill development, aligning with our school's mission and core values.

Position Duties
  • Assist the Head Coach in instructing all aspects of lacrosse.
  • Work with student-athletes to enhance personal and team skills.
  • Ensure compliance with conference and state athletic regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to assess program needs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, staff, parents, community, administration, and media.
  • Manage financial aspects, including equipment and uniforms.
  • Maintain records such as forms, reports, statistics, and season summaries.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Complete reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow health and safety protocols.
  • Take responsibility for practice planning and skill development.
  • Develop professional relationships with opponents.
    • Ideal Candidate Qualities
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Professionalism and ability to foster a positive environment.
  • Knowledge of interscholastic athletic regulations.
  • Skills in managing interactions and resolving problems.
  • Experience in off-season skill development and conditioning.
    • Additional Qualities

    Dependability, adaptability, flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit are essential. The candidate should be proactive in supporting student-athletes and engaging in school community life.

    Requirements
    • Minimum of 1 year coaching experience as an Assistant or Head Coach.
    • Physical ability to perform duties, with accommodations available for disabilities.
