Tax Associate – Overview

Join H&R Block as a Tax Associate and contribute to providing expert tax services to our clients. You will receive comprehensive training and work in a collaborative team environment.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email)
• Prepare complete and accurate federal and state tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support and respond to client inquiries
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration
• Grow your tax expertise through continued learning and professional development

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (preferred)
• Previous experience in a customer‑service or retail environment (preferred)
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment (preferred)
• Ability to work a minimum of 25–35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course
• Comfort using virtual tools – video, phone, and chat
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must meet all IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
