Superintendent, Construction

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Superintendent to work on various projects in the Greater Richmond area.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience with a large scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience

* In depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment and manpower

* Ability to lead field operations with effective decision making and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and leadership abilities

* Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance

* In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations

* High School diploma or equivalent

* Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening

Responsibilities:

* Schedule, supervise and monitor construction to meet or exceed the project schedule and budget

* Encourages and/or participates in staff training and development

* Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline

* Develop a project schedule, sequence of work, and monitory daily productivity

* Have a working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders

* Supervise field work force to assure safety, production and budget requirements are met

* Coordinate materials and equipment delivery to ensure long-lead and critical-path items are on-site

* Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary

* Assure punch list is completed in a timely manner
