SGP Recruiting provides both operations and strategic support to Tribal 8(a) and commercial organizations. Our client is a multifaceted Class A General Contractor focused on government construction. The client’s objective is to deliver a superior product of exceptional value that is completed on time and within the established budget.

They are seeking an experienced Quality Control Site Supervisor to coordinate with the Project Manager, vendors, subcontractors and management to determine the need for manpower, materials, and equipment. The Site Superintendent will serve as the direct liaison with the Government Contracting Official and direct the daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/security requirements, maximizing production and minimizing disruptions.

They will ensure the construction schedule and budget stay on plan.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and deliver superior customer service.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
  • Accomplish construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff; evaluating milestone assumptions; resolving design problems; implementing change orders.
  • Meet construction budget by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project operating and capital budget information.
  • Supervise coordination and input with contractors providing services and infrastructure.
  • Contribute construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolve problems; identify construction management system improvements.
  • Manage subcontractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting; monitor, control performance; ensure quality workmanship.
  • Oversee preparation of daily logs and reports of construction activity for office submittal.
  • Supervise change proposals, request for information, and supplemental instructions on behalf of the client.
  • Ensure each subcontractor is provided with the subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, certificate of insurance, certified payroll, lien waivers, schedule of values, etc. are signed and returned to headquarters.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Schedule and conduct required Pre-Construction Contractor Quality Control (CQC) and safety meetings with everyone on the jobsite.
  • Communicate project progress to the Project Manager and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide coordination and input with contractors regarding schedule and cost management.
  • Monitor and ensure schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.
  • Prepare and submit daily logs and reports of construction activities to the appropriate authority.
  • Review change proposals, request for information, supplemental instructions, and other contract documentation.
  • Review and approve subcontractor payment requests and forward them to the Project Manager for approval.
  • Attend local meetings, approval meetings, and conferences; document and take action on items in the client’s interests.
  • Maintain relationships and act as liaison for federal, state, and municipal matters, including permitting and inspection requirements, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Evaluate construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtain approvals from customers.
  • Assist in the review and approval of subcontractor payment requests.
  • Attend required meetings and conferences; document and take action on items of interest.
