Description

You will work on a variety of emergency cases, ensuring timely and effective treatment while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. As a Locum MD or DO in Emergency Medicine, you will be involved in diverse projects ranging from handling trauma cases and acute illnesses to managing medical emergencies. Your role is vital in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care during critical situations. This position requires quick thinking, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with acute conditions in the emergency department.
  • Perform medical procedures such as intubation, suturing, and wound care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for emergency medical care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records of patient interactions and treatment plans.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and training to stay updated on best practices.
Requirements:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings.
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to make swift, accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and patient confidentiality.

Schedule:

12-hour day, night, or weekend shifts

No call shifts

Annual Volume: 14k patients

EMR:
Meditech

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
