• Board Certification:
  Must be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery
• Licensure:
  Must hold an active Virginia medical license
• Experience:
  Prior experience in general surgery, including adult and pediatric cases

The ideal candidate should be proficient in the following:

• Laparoscopic surgery
• Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, and Hernioplasty
• Trauma surgery
• Breast and head/neck surgeries
• Endoscopic procedures (Upper GI, Lower GI)
• Chest tube insertion and central line placement
• Minor orthopedic and vascular surgeries

• Trauma Level: 0
• EMR Systems:
  Athena and Meditech
• Support Staff:
  Includes 34 RNs; no residents or teaching supervision required
• Response Time: 30 minutes for call-backs
