The facility operates under a physician supervision model with 24-hour in-house CRNA coverage, providing a collaborative clinical environment. Locum tenens anesthesiologist coverage is sought beginning in January on an ongoing basis to address staffing needs within the Anesthesia Department.

The area offers a range of cultural and recreational attractions suited to diverse interests. Notable destinations include the Children's Museum of Virginia, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum, and the Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion, an outdoor venue seating 6,500 that hosts concerts along the Elizabeth River. Clinicians on assignment may also explore the historic Olde Towne neighborhood, waterfront dining, live music, go-karting, kayaking, and gaming at the local casino, with the Elizabeth River Ferry providing a scenic way to travel between area destinations.

Clinicians in this role will provide anesthesia services under a physician supervision model during day shifts within an operating room setting, with shift options of 8, 10, or 12 hours. The surgical case mix includes cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, oncology, gastroenterology, vascular, and pediatric procedures; OB, trauma, neuro-craniotomy, and cardiac surgery cases are excluded. Call coverage is negotiable and structured as beeper call with a 30-minute callback requirement;

weekend call assistance is welcomed but not required, and callback volume is low. Board certification is required for all clinicians considered for this role, and full-time availability is preferred.
