This state hospital provides primary care services to adult psychiatric patients within a structured clinical environment. The facility maintains a full complement of interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatric staff and other primary care clinicians, to support daily clinical operations. Clinical workflows are designed to facilitate coordinated care delivery across medical and psychiatric disciplines.

Clinicians on assignment will find access to Busch Gardens, a theme park set across wooded hills featuring a notable lineup of roller coasters including Griffon, Pantheon, and Alpengeist, as well as nearby historical sites at Jamestown and Yorktown accessible via the scenic 23-mile Colonial Parkway. Outdoor recreation options include York River State Park, located approximately 15 miles from Colonial Williamsburg, where clinicians can hike, bike, kayak, and fish along tidal wetlands and woodland trails, with local breweries, wineries, and restaurants serving regional cuisine also available in the area.

This opportunity is available to start ASAP for a 3-month assignment with the option to extend. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call required. Providers can expect to see approximately 8-16 psychiatric patients per day. This need is for an NP with a Virginia license, 3+ years of practitioner experience, and autonomous practice experience.

Credentialing is estimated at 2-3 weeks. Providers will have the support of a full interdisciplinary team, including psychiatric staff and other primary care providers. The EMR system is Cerner One Mind Millennium.
