PositionParent and Family Engagement Specialist (part-time, grant-funded through Sept. 30, 2026)
DescriptionThe Parent and Family Engagement Specialist will play a vital role in strengthening the connection between families, school staff, and students to support student success. This part‑time position will be shared between the elementary schools and the middle school and will focus on planning, organizing, and implementing family engagement activities, literacy events, and parent training programs. The specialist will support efforts to build a welcoming and inclusive school culture where parents feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in their child’s education.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Plan, coordinate, and implement family engagement activities, events, and literacy programs across elementary and middle schools.
- Develop and facilitate parent workshops, informational sessions, and training programs to support student learning and development.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, school staff, and community partners to enhance parent participation and involvement.
- Serve as a liaison between schools and families, ensuring clear communication and accessibility of resources.
- Collaborate with school leadership to identify family engagement needs and plan responsive initiatives.
- Promote an inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and encourages active participation from all families.
- Track and report on family engagement activities, attendance, and outcomes to support continuous improvement.
- Part‑time, shared between elementary and middle school. Flexible scheduling may be required to support school events, meetings, and evening activities. Approximately 30 hours per week.
- Exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone and to enter data into a computer.
- See and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels, indoors, outdoors and on the telephone.
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly indoors, outdoors, and on the telephone.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

- FLSA Status – Non‑Exempt
- Hourly Rate – based on Coordinator pay scale
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of School Board policy.
