• Act as instructional lead in the planning, organizing, and delivering of instruction to meet the individual and group learning needs, utilizing state guidelines and division curriculum.

The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Coordinating the assignment of teachers and the placement of students into ESL adult education classes.
• Ordering materials and supplies necessary for instruction.
• Maintaining inventory of instructional materials and supplies.
• Entering and maintaining accurate data through VDOE-approved databases.
• Participating in local, regional, and state professional development activities as required by Henrico Public Schools and the Virginia Department of Education.
• Administering the CASAS assessment to adults and interpreting the scores for appropriate class placement.
• Setting goals and objectives with the adult students.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications that are common in an office environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in working with adults in the ESL classroom environment is preferred.

• A Bachelor's degree and a valid Virginia teaching license is required with an endorsement in English as a Second Language. An endorsement in adult education is preferred.

This position is for the  school year, with a contractual start date of July 14, 2025. Actual salary will be prorated based on the candidate's official start date in the assignment.

• Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $66,240.11 (Bachelor's)
• Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $69,419.81 (Master's)
