Instructional Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Locust Grove Elementary as an Instructional Assistant. This full-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting the educational development of students. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to facilitate a positive learning environment and assist in the delivery of instructional materials and activities.

• Assist teachers in preparing and implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Support students in their learning by providing individualized attention and assistance.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
• Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Facilitate small group activities and provide support during classroom instruction.
• Assist with the administration of assessments and record-keeping.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Support students with special needs and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
• Familiarity with instructional technologies and educational software is a plus.
• Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies.
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
