CIS Secure will lead a multi‑year program in partnership with an industry integrator to deliver a next‑generation secure communication system for aircraft operations. Based in Ashburn, VA, this initiative will produce a ruggedized, military‑grade VOIP solution that enables secure voice and data communication across multiple classified domains. The program spans the full engineering lifecycle – from requirements analysis and preliminary design through prototyping, integration, and verification testing – and is executed under AS6500, AS9100, and CMMI standards.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as a technical lead, transforming technical requirements into a compliant electrical design, including multi‑layer PCB, wire harnesses, shielding, and more.

Responsibilities- Transform technical requirements into a compliant electrical design, including multi‑layer PCBs, wire harnesses, shielding, etc.
- Derive requirements for each Configuration Item pertaining to electrical functionality.
- Design PCBs from component selection through schematic development, layout, simulated testing, bench‑level testing, and integrated test.
- Generate technical data package in accordance with applicable Mil‑Stds.
- Perform testing activities to ensure design meets intended requirements.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency with OrCad or Altium.
- This position anticipates on‑site work with regular hours, Monday‑Friday. Occasional telework may be considered and will be discussed as part of the interview process.
- Primary work location is the CIS Secure headquarters in Ashburn, VA. Minimal local travel is anticipated for this position.
- All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of application.
- All candidates must be clearable, with an active and current DoD Secret clearance highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and related work experience. Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, highly preferred.

Skills and Experience:- 15+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense designing military‑hardened IT systems.
- Familiarity with standards such as USAF Airworthiness Risk Assessment and Acceptance Bulletin (AWB‑150B), EO 12114, MIL‑HDBK‑817, MIL‑STD‑1766C, MIL‑STD‑3100B, MIL‑STD‑882E, and others.

Skills and Experience:
20+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense designing military‑hardened IT systems.
- Regular walking, sitting, using hands for handling or feeling, talking or hearing. Frequent standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, assisted or unassisted. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
