Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an Environmental Construction Specialist to work on Electric Utility Construction Projects. This is a field position, and candidates must have experience with environmental compliance in relation to land clearing and linear construction projects. - Day 1 of Employment:

- Provides Environmental Compliance and construction oversight on transmission site development and linear transmission line construction projects for Electric Transmission infrastructure.
- Provides Environmental Oversight and compliance/inspections associated with Transmission Capital Projects and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control and soil disturbance.
- Ensure that all field operations are in compliance with permits, including road use permits, natural resource protection act permits, Corps of Engineers permits, etc.
- Document pre‑ and post‑work field conditions to make sure that sites are in compliance with permits and environmental regulations and there are no conditions that require mitigation or restoration.
- Performs all required erosion and sediment, stormwater management and pollution prevention inspections for applicable construction projects.
- Interprets complex plans and drawings.
- Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations.
- Responsible for attending pre‑construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed.
- Manage and oversee site development crews. Responsible for providing oversight for sediment and erosion control or Best Management Practice (BMP) contractors to ensure all measures are installed as per the approved plan.
- Observe that wetlands & sensitive areas’ identification are in place and that crews are aware of them prior to entering such areas.
- Monitors and reports to Project Management on status of construction units estimated and actuals billed to date of project.
- Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the public.
- Assist in developing recommendations on future right‑of‑way maintenance requirements.
- Drive a company vehicle safely to work locations for the organization.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Construction Management, Building Science, or a degree related to these fields.
- 1‑5 years’ experience in Site Development work, permitting utility construction, Environmental Compliance, or a related field.
- Must have solid understanding of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Service (NPDES) Construction General Permit (CGP) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation and inspections associated with these permits and plans.
