Corporate Banking Portfolio Manager II
As a Corporate Banking Portfolio Manager II, you will be responsible for credit underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio management of new and existing commercial banking relationships to ensure strong credit quality and achieve efficient internal processes to retain and expand customer relationships. Additionally, you will be responsible for underwriting and effective credit and risk administration with particular emphasis on financial analysis/modeling, risk evaluation, ongoing portfolio maintenance activities, regulatory compliance, and customer support.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of the most complex credits with minimal oversight, demonstrating expert knowledge of clients and credits.
- Perform effective credit underwriting and risk administration with emphasis on adherence to credit policy, financial analysis/modeling, risk evaluation, and portfolio maintenance.
- Significantly contribute to the review and negotiation of loan documentation.
- Structure, underwrite, and document new business, renewals, and modifications as the credit expert within the first line of defense.
- Oversee assigned portfolio, anticipate potential issues, and develop solutions while managing multiple priorities.
- Meet deadlines and schedules to maintain compliance with credit and risk policies.
- Provide client management support, maintaining regular direct interaction and resolving complex credit‑related issues.
- Stay current on industry and market information related to assigned markets and customers.
- Share insights and learnings with other Relationship Managers (RMs) and Portfolio Managers (PMs).
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling and risk evaluation.
- Proven ability to manage complex credit portfolios with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Preferred:
Experience in lending to Aerospace, Defense, and Government Services sectors. - Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and credit policy requirements.
- Ability to anticipate portfolio issues and develop proactive solutions.
