Headquartered in Piney River, Virginia and founded more than 111 years ago, we are a family-owned agricultural business growing nursery plants and fruit. As we continue to grow, we are adding a Director of Finance to our Executive Leadership Team to provide financial insight and leadership that will help shape our future.

• Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance
• Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to guide strategic and operational decisions
• Monitor cash flow, profitability, and key performance indicators to ensure long-term financial health
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Manage relationships with outside accountants, auditors, insurers, financial institutions, and government agencies
• Oversee loans, grants, risk management, and insurance programs
• Lead and develop the Finance and IT teams
• Provide the CEO with regular financial and IT updates and reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is the minimum education requirement; CPA preferred
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a focus on financial reporting and FP&A
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, with 5+ years managing and developing finance staff
• Strong background in financial accounting, GAAP reporting, internal controls, and risk management
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools
• Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPI reporting
• Proven ability managing audits, banking relationships, loans, grants, and insurance programs
