Job Summary
Clinician II provides therapeutic interventions and service coordination for families with at-risk children in the home, community, or office setting. This position offers theory-based individual and family counseling/therapy to adults, children, and families, including those involved in foster care, independent living, and adoption programs. Clinician II also provides Intensive In-Home, Intensive Care Coordination, Therapeutic Mentoring, Family Engagement, and Outpatient Counseling services.
EssentialFunctions and Duties
- Complete comprehensive assessment addressing behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial needs of children and families.
- Develop and implement Individualized Treatment Plans.
- Request and maintain current authorizations from insurance carriers.
- Provide counseling and therapy based on client needs.
- Facilitate and maintain a positive relationship with referral sources and community resources.
- Meet all reporting requirements as mandated by program funding sources.
- Pursue professional development as outlined by the applicable licensure board.
- Meet all program and organization reporting and paperwork deadline requirements.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Program Director or Supervisor.
- Seek consultation and supervision from other clinicians or supervisors within their community.
- Participate in supervision with Clinical Supervisor, staff meetings, and training events.
- Maintain documentation regarding service provision.
- Attend assigned meetings, including Family Assessment Planning Team (FAPT), Individual Education Plan, and staff meetings.
- Implement interventions using an appropriate theoretical framework based on client needs.
- Coordinate services and provide crisis intervention as appropriate.
- Utilize Attachment Parenting principles and Trauma-informed Care concepts.
- Provide supportive counseling to children and families.
- Office and records administration techniques and procedures
- The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams, and virtual meeting applications such as Zoom, Web Ex, Google Meet
- DePaul's policies, procedures, and standard practices and the rules and guidelines established by regulatory and governing agencies
- Relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote the safety and protection of people, data, and property
- Knowledge of methodologies and resources used to assess the needs of the listener or audience to share information or engage in ongoing communication
- Developing and maintaining professional working relationships and boundaries with individuals served, coworkers, community partners, and business associates
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Managing multiple priorities and completing assignments on time, accurately, and with attention to detail
- Verbal and written communication and body language that conveys information, ideas, or inquiries effectively and concisely that purveys professional composure, emotional intelligence, thoughtfulness, patience, and respect amidst change, ambiguity, and within the daily trajectories of work
- Using standard office equipment such as telephone, calculator, printer, scanner, cellular phone, tablet, laptop, postage machine, shredder
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Collecting and analyzing data
