Associate, Global Health- Medical Assistant

Join our dynamic employee health clinic in Elkton, Virginia as a Medical Assistant. Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital and have a current BLS certification. CCMA, CMA or RMA certification is preferred. Our ideal candidate is dynamic and resilient, and can work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. A strong focus on teamwork and excellent communication skills are required, as the successful candidate must be able to interact collaboratively with colleagues in the clinic and with employees at all levels in the organization.

Must have a strong working knowledge of computers including Microsoft 365 suite and electronic medical records.

• Medical Assistant position in a dynamic employee health clinic. The position is in person, during core business hours, Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with potential for flexible hours. Position reports to Associate Director Global Employee Health, collaborates with multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses and Physician.
• Administer medical surveillance programs: reviewing questionnaires, administering vaccinations, collecting lab specimens, venipuncture, testing vision, performing audiometry and spirometry, monitoring compliance.
• Occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries including medical emergencies: at the direction of the RN, MD/DO.
• Administrative duties: scheduling appointments, equipment calibration, supply stocking, answering phones, electronic medical record documentation.
• Wellness activities including flu vaccination clinics and other company sponsored events.

• Must have a HS Diploma or GED and one of the following:
• A certificate of completion from an accredited CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting (i.e., medical office or hospital)

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office or hospital. Occupational Health experience desirable.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification as CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.
