Job SummaryUnder general supervision, employee is responsible for providing therapeutic services consistent with education, training and qualifications to individuals with substance use disorders and those with co-occurring mental health and/or developmental disability diagnoses. Employee develops assessment-based treatment plans for each individual assigned and delivers services through group psycho-educational, motivational and supportive sessions to provide support for the individual’s recovery process. Employee is expected to maintain best-practices in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders.
Employee is responsible for maintaining adherence to requirements set forth by DBHDS and all applicable administrative tasks in the delivery of services. Support SUD Departments coordinators in the development and delivery of public presentations and training workshops to various groups and agencies on substance use prevention and treatment programs. Employee is responsible for representing MPNN BH at all times and in accordance with MPNN BH mission and policies.
Employee reports to the specific location and SUD Coordinator as assigned.
- Provides direct substance use disorder therapeutic services to individuals identified as in need of services through the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment. Population served includes those with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and/or developmentally disability.
- Provide psycho-educational, motivational, and supportive group sessions to individuals admitted to substance use disorder services. Employs best-practices in the development and delivery of all substance use disorder program services.
- Develop and implement assessment-based, individualized treatment plans for individuals served, to include quarterly reviews and individual satisfaction with services, to promote the individualized recovery process.
- Maintain familiarity with all Substance Use Disorder and Recovery services provided by MPNN BH, and those provided by community partners, to ensure appropriate referrals for additional or alternate services needed by the individual.
- Complete required assessments in a timely manner and as aligned with education, training and credential capabilities. Refers individuals to qualified professionals for additional assessments as determined.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all individuals’ personal information and clinical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations, and in accordance with MPNN BH policies.
- Participate in legal proceedings as summonsed, or required by law, while maintaining adherence to 42 CFR regulations.
- Maintain timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation for all services as required by DBHDS and payor requirements.
- Complete all applicable initial and annual trainings as required by MPNN BH and as assigned during the course of employment; maintain current CPR/First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications, utilizing approved techniques during emergency situations.
