Transitions Day Support Services in Warsaw, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional I to join their team. • Provide direct care and personal support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility
• Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
  
  Facilitate community integration, social skills development, and recreational activities
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all individuals served
• Respond appropriately to behavioral support needs and crisis situations

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to person-centered care
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements
