Responsible for assisting the Concessions Manager with the operations and maintenance of the concessions operation at the McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC). Oversees front line staff, food/beverage sales and preparation, merchandise sales, cleaning and maintenance of concessions equipment and building. Must possess good public relations skills and the ability to carry out established policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily opening and closing of a concessions building; assigns work tasks to Concessions Attendants.
Conducts inspections of equipment as well as makes requests needed for supplies or equipment.
Reconciles daily sales reports adhering to County policies and procedures.
Resolves concerns, conflicts and problems of patrons to ensure that services are provided in a professional and safe manner.
Responsible for food and beverage preparation and sales including operation of equipment.
Operates a point of sale (POS) system and a cash register system.
Cleans the concessions facility and the surrounding area; ensures all supplies are returned to its proper place in storage, coordinates with staff to return facility to proper state; completes facility check list and any maintenance requests.
Performs work safely in accordance with department safety procedures.
Reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to Concessions Manager; accurately documents and reports accidents, injuries and incidents that occur to the Concessions Manager.
Adheres to division, department, and County policies and procedures as well as Health Department guidelines.
Exhibits a high degree of customer service skills and positive attitude with patrons and staff at all times.
QualificationsMust be 18 years age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent with supervisor/management experience, and experience with food preparation and equipment, sanitation, and hygiene preferred.
This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include criminal history and background checks.
Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within the first 30 days of hire.
Food handling certification preferred or must be willing to attend class towards obtaining this certification.
Working knowledge of facility operations, scheduling staff, and maintenance procedures.
General knowledge of accounting and clerical processes.
Excellent public relations and communication skills.
Ability to supervise the work of others.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Ability to operate food preparation equipment such as microwave, popcorn machine, etc.
Position is work-as-required, no benefits.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Requires regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place or continual walking, lifting and carrying of moderate to heavy items on a consistent basis.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
