• Oversee Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) activities and maintain/report Assess & Authorization (A&A) status and issues.
• Conduct A&A activities in accordance with DoD/DON policy and DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Certification and Accreditation (C&A)/A&A processes.
• Provide NQV support with in‑depth knowledge of all A&A subject areas (throughout RMF Steps 1 through
  6) and a deep understanding of Navy Information Technology (IT) sites, systems, and infrastructure.
• Recommend cybersecurity protection capabilities, and, in collaboration with system owners, advise implementation strategies as guidance and threats change.
• Consult with System ISSEs and/or System Owners regarding incorporation of cybersecurity best practices into system development/modernization/management efforts.
• Support implementation of the RMF for assigned programs, organizations, and systems.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited by an information system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls.
• Perform annual security reviews and annual testing of Information Assurance (IA) controls.
• Travel:

• A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field is preferred. A master's degree may substitute for two years of the required relevant experience.
• Minimum of seven years of directly related experience in securing and validating DoD systems.
• At least five years of relevant experience in the following areas:
• RMF process
• System analysis and audits
• CISCO IOS
• Microsoft Windows/Server
• Linux
• Network and system monitoring tools
• IA compliance models and tools
• IA control validation
• Risk management and incident response
• System Security Officer responsibilities
• Securing and validating DoD systems
• A minimum of two years of experience within Research, Development, Test & Evaluation environments.
• Familiarity with computer security principles, military system specifications, DoD IA policies, network and systems configuration and administration.
• Experience with RMF, Platform IT, Cyber Security implementation, IA boundary defense techniques, and IA‑enabled appliances.
• Familiarity with eMASS.
• Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution.
• Current Operating System or Networking Technology certification (relevant).
• Must have current DoD 8570.01M (or superseded manual) IAM/IAT Level III certification.
• Must have Navy Qualified Validator certification in accordance with DoDI 8510.01.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must maintain capacity to communicate with supervisor/manager when not in office.
