Overview
LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to support our Enterprise Technology Services Infrastructure Solutions group. This position is a subject matter expert, capable of designing, engineering, testing, implementing, and managing information technology (IT) networking systems and services. The ideal candidate must have strong container security knowledge and experience supporting application developers with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native deployment strategies as well as real-world experience with implementing wired and wireless networking solutions to include routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have working knowledge of implementing and administering digital certificates. The position will report to the Network Engineering Platform Lead. - Engineering and implementing LMI’s networking capabilities; serve as the engineering point-of-contact for resolving reported performance or delivery issues. Manage multiple and competing priorities with little supervision.
- Produce network designs and engineering artifacts.
- Ensure all networking solutions comply with industry and Government-mandated security protocols, controls, and best practices; work closely with the Info Sec Team to document controls and provide metrics to comply with audits and performance levels.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Escalate issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the appropriate levels for clarification and resolution.
- Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies.
- Engage appropriately with LMI’s internal or external clients as projects dictate.
- Maintain IT equipment in support of LMI’s secure environment, including applying required STIGs on all network equipment.
- Maintain and support LMI’s two Datacenters; provide support for remote office locations and technologies when needed.
- Maintain a containerized platform that aids hosting of developer-hosted containers.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of experience designing, executing and supporting networking solutions.
- Working knowledge of digital certificates and their administration.
- Experience with internal Microsoft Certificate Authorities and external public certificates.
- Advanced experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.
- Understanding routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
- Understanding NAT and ACLs.
- Advanced experience with Cisco Switches and Routers.
- Knowledge of ISO-XE, NX-OS code.
- Advanced understanding of authentication protocols;
Radius and TACACS. - Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine for authentication and authorization capabilities via MFA, wireless, and VPN.
- Experience with Wireless LAN Infrastructure.
- Experience with F5 Load Balancer.
- Experience writing iRules and understanding of iRules; knowledge of iApps, VIPs, nodes, pools and health check rules.
- Understanding of Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of directory services (AD and LDAP).
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and other products to communicate with LMI leadership and clients.
