Position Summary

The role of the Site Administrator Technician is a dual role requiring both administrative and technical knowledge to complete the day‑to‑day work activities in a correctional facility. This position requires an individual with strong data entry skills, technical knowledge, and customer service experience to address phone calls and email correspondence from both internal and external customers. The incumbent will be the first point of contact for facility personnel in all administrative and technical tasks associated with the inmate call control systems.

• Troubleshooting, correcting, and servicing issues with inmate technology systems, including basic telephone repair and maintenance.
• Hardware troubleshooting: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficient in telephony and networking, including copper, CAT 5/6, fiber optic wiring, wiring color codes, and data cabling fabrication.
• Wiring troubleshooting: trace and repair or replace damaged wiring; repair 66‑block or cutoff switches.
• Maintain, repair, and operate onsite telecommunications and networking hardware/software, access points, and other electronic equipment.
• Meet all service requirements as set forth by the customer contract.
• Build and maintain working relationships with facility personnel, vendors, and contractors to resolve onsite technical problems.
• Strong time‑management skills and control service-related expenses.
• Deliver service resolution in a timely and effective manner to ensure optimal system performance and highly satisfied customers.
• Provide onsite instruction and training for site personnel as necessary.
• Maintain stringent security guidelines at all times in jail and prison environments.
• Return damaged or inoperable equipment according to the Return Merchandise Authorization process.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of tablet functionality, applications, and Wi‑Fi connectivity issues where applicable.
• Safely drive company or personal vehicle to various facilities throughout the assigned state.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites daily with potential overnight trips.
• Ability and willingness to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime and after‑hours callouts.

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunications – installation, repair, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems (telephones, video visitation systems, TTY or VRS units, Wi‑Fi/access points).
• 2+ years of experience with computer/network installation and repair; knowledge of VLAN, advanced network configurations; telecom and VoIP a plus.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED; some college courses preferred.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office, and other required software programs.
• Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Daily travel throughout the assigned geographical area; overnight travel possible.
• Must be able to consistently pass criminal background checks.
