Account Manager (Insurance & Employee Benefits)
We are seeking a qualified and service-oriented Account Manager to join our insurance office. This position plays a critical role in supporting individual and group clients by delivering high-quality service, maintaining strong client relationships, and assisting with the administration of insurance and employee benefit programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in health insurance and benefits, a commitment to client satisfaction, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary service contact for individual and group insurance clients
- Prepare and manage insurance quotes for individuals and small to mid-sized employer groups
- Assist with new business onboarding, open enrollments, and ongoing enrollment changes, including support for school systems and educational institutions
- Support clients with ACA compliance, including Marketplace-related matters
- Provide assistance with Medicare-related benefits, as applicable
- Maintain and update client information within benefit administration systems such as Ease, Employee Navigator, or similar platforms
- Communicate directly with insurance carriers to resolve service issues, request information, manage policy changes, and support renewals
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure accurate and timely service delivery
- Support client retention efforts by providing consistent, responsive, and knowledgeable service
- Participate in occasional, limited travel for client meetings or enrollment support
- Active Insurance Producer License (required)
- Knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, Marketplace plans, and Medicare benefits
- Experience with small and mid-sized group health plans
- Familiarity with benefit administration systems such as Ease, Employee Navigator, or comparable platforms
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with attention to detail
- Professional demeanor with a client-focused, service-oriented approach
- Prior experience in an insurance agency or employee benefits environment
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers and underwriting teams
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
This position is primarily office-based with occasional and minimal travel required. The role is focused on service, administration, and client relationship management rather than sales production.
