The District Attorney's Office is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill one (1) Crime Analyst vacancy.
The position in this classification is located in the District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations, reporting to a Lieutenant of Inspectors. The incumbent in this class is a non-sworn employee who works closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and investigative personnel to accomplish the mission of the District Attorney’s Office.
Crime Analysts are responsible for collecting and analyzing criminal intelligence data to determine crime patterns and predict future crime trends. Incumbents work as an integral part of Investigative teams to help identify suspects and leads and provide investigative support for criminal prosecution. Assigned work involves extensive and critical reading of incident reports, supplements, and forensic reports, using internal and external data sources to mine crime and suspect information.

This position requires initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making skills.
The Sheriff's Office may also use the eligible list from this recruitment to fill future vacancies as well.

What you will typically be responsible for:

• Organizing and compiling criminal intelligence data on crime trend activities
• Conducting predictive analysis using regression and other statistical methods
• Identifying trends in criminal activity and calls for service
• Analyzing crime patterns and series to identify possible suspects or leads
• Gathering, analyzing, correlating, or evaluating information from a variety of resources
• Providing investigative research using multiple databases and sources, creating link analyses, timelines, and event flow diagrams
• Performing telephone toll analysis to identify suspects, leads, or witnesses and to verify or falsify alibi information
• Preparing comprehensive written reports, presentations, maps, or charts based on research, collection, and analysis of intelligence data
