The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within our non-durable goods manufacturing facility located at 5301 Corrugated Road, Richmond. This position is responsible for operating sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies to designated areas in a timely manner. The operator will collaborate closely with warehouse and production teams to maintain smooth workflow and support production schedules.

Safety and adherence to company protocols are paramount, as the role involves handling heavy equipment and navigating busy warehouse environments. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the overall productivity and operational success of the manufacturing process during the second shift.

• Minimum of 1 year experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably and punctually.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and material handling procedures.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials as required and stand for extended periods.

• Experience working in non-durable goods manufacturing or a similar industrial setting.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.

• Operate forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse and production areas during the 2nd shift.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate handling and placement of goods according to company standards.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety guidelines and company policies.
• Collaborate with warehouse and production staff to coordinate material flow and support inventory management.

The required skills such as forklift operation and adherence to safety protocols are essential for daily tasks involving the movement and handling of materials, ensuring both efficiency and workplace safety. Physical stamina and coordination are used continuously to manage heavy loads and operate machinery safely. Preferred skills like familiarity with inventory systems and effective communication enhance the operator's ability to support production flow and collaborate with team members.
