Temporary Paint Shop Helper

Shickel Corporation is seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to assist our Commercial Painters. This is an urgent hiring need for temporary help to support our busy production schedule.

Assist Commercial Painters in preparing, applying, and finishing coatings on materials or products. Perform tasks necessary for surface preparation, coating, clean‑up, and general support of painting operations.

Load and move materials to work areas using forklifts, yard vehicles, hoists, and overhead cranes.

Support Commercial Painter or Assistant Commercial Painter in preparation, coating, and clean‑up of equipment, facilities, and materials.

Set up, load, adjust, clean, and safely operate metal preparation equipment (Hoffman blast booth, glass bead blaster).

Safely use hooded supplied air respiratory equipment and all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Clean and prepare surfaces of articles for painting (grit blasting, power washing).

Install specified nozzles in spray guns.

Transport painted articles to and from drying areas; rack and inspect finished work for stockroom or shipping.

Position articles in fixtures or assemble ladders and scaffolds as needed.

Provide painters with materials, tools, and supplies.

Maintain general housekeeping of assigned work areas.

Operate forklifts and yard vehicles to safely transport products.

Follow safety guidelines per Shickel Corporation Safety Manual; report or correct unsafe acts and conditions; file injury reports the same day of any injury.

Exhibit teamwork and adhere to Shickel Corporation policies, principles, and standards of behavior.

Use computer systems to accurately charge labor costs.

Perform duties in accordance with Shickel Quality Management System.
