Synergy Search is partnering with a well-established, growing organization to find an experienced partnership tax professional.
What you'll do:- Prepare and review complex partnership returns (Form 1065) and related schedules, including K-1s, K-2s and K-3s
- Model and review partnership allocations under IRC §704(b), including capital account maintenance, substantial economic effect and target allocations
- Analyze and apply §754 elections
- Evaluate interest expense deductibility under IRC §163, including §163(j) business interest limitation calculations and carryforwards
- Advise on transactions such as partner admissions, redemptions, transfers and restructurings
- Mentor junior team members and review their work
- 5+ years of partnership tax experience in public accounting, a law firm or industry
- Strong working knowledge of §§163, 704(b) and 754, and the ability to explain them clearly to non-tax stakeholders
- Experience with real estate, private equity, investment funds or operating partnerships is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with tax software (e.g., CCH, GoSystem, One Source) is helpful
- Base Salary to 150K + Bonus
