The Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking energetic and dynamic individuals to provide high-level customer service at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center (14300 Minnieville Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22193) and Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center (13025 Chinn Park Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22192). These facilities require people who are highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work within a larger team structure in fast-paced, multi‑tasking environments.
Typical duties include:
• Directly engaging customers and providing clear and accurate information across all program departments in response to inquiries in person and over the phone.
• Processing program registrations and transactions, handling cash, and managing other day‑to‑day center operations.
Hourly Payrate: $17.99
Position Type: PART‑TIME, non‑benefitted. Hours vary to include mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility required between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm.
- Respond to requests for information from the general public, staff, and other interested parties; answer routine questions; direct callers/visitors to appropriate locations or staff.
- Prepare, review, and process routine correspondence, logs, paperwork, invoices, forms, and other related items to ensure accuracy and completeness; enter information into spreadsheets and databases.
- Receive, sort, and distribute correspondence, deliveries, and mail.
- File documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods; make photocopies; fax documents.
- Review calendars and schedule appointments and/or meetings.
- Perform other duties of similar nature or level.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 0–12 months of related experience.
Physical RequirementsPositions typically require reaching, standing, lifting, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds may be required.
