This is a part-time position with normal hours being 3:00–6:00 p.m. An optional morning shift, 7:00–9:00 a.m., may be available as well as additional hours as the program requires.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome students, take attendance, and manage daily check-in/out and dismissal per camp procedures.
  • Lead age-appropriate activities (games, crafts, clubs, homework support) and supervise indoor/outdoor play with clear expectations.
  • Maintain constant supervision and positive group management; model social–emotional skills and inclusive participation.
  • Follow health plans and safety protocols (allergy guidance, hydration/heat/cold weather, playground/classroom rules); identify and report hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Prepare spaces and materials; set up/clean up efficiently; uphold sanitation standards.
  • Complete incident/accident reports accurately and on time.
  • Meet or exceed ACA practices and Virginia child day program licensing standards.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality; be punctual, prepared, and flexible; perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or designee.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with children (after-school programs, camp, classroom aide, coaching, babysitting).
  • Positive, reliable, coachable teammate with strong communication and group-management skills.
  • Organized and safety-minded; comfortable supervising both indoor activities and outdoor play.
  • Pediatric First Aid/CPR (or able to obtain before start and maintain throughout employment).
